This program assists individuals and their families in the process of divorce from a psychological and legal perspective. This method utilizes a mediating attorney who takes the parties through the process and prepares the documents. In addition each party will have an independent attorney who will review the final agreement and may file the final document.
A therapist meets initially with the parties to assist them in the psychological emotional adjustment which inevitable occurs in themselves and in their children The therapist may assist in resolving conflicts and in deciding custody and visitation arrangements. The children may also be interviewed to assist them in their adjustment to separation or divorce. One session is reserved for the family redefined and one session for closure once the final agreement has been reached.
